Achieving a deep and defined wave pattern in your hair requires patience and consistent maintenance behaviors such as applying pomade, wearing a durag, combing and brushing. Brushing your wave pattern and laying the hair flat is a critical part of the wave process, which is why it is so important for wavers to know which brush hardness is best. Wave brushes can be made with soft, medium-soft, medium, medium-hard or hard bristles. Today Veeta is going to explain soft and hard wave brushes, how they are different and which wavers are the best candidates for each.
Soft Wave Brush

Soft wave brushes are characterized by softer bristles, which work better on short hair, fresh cuts and sensitive scalps. Soft brushes are great for training hair at shorter lengths, as well as to evenly distribute hair product. Soft brushes can be used at the end of a brushing session, after using a harder brush, to lay down frizz as well as the hairs on the top layer of the hair into the wave pattern. A high-quality soft brush should be made out of 100% synthetic flex bristles and help wavers to begin defining their wave pattern. Veeta is going to be releasing a line of Superior Wave Brushes, so make sure to keep an eye out for their release! Below is a sneek-peak at the features of the Veeta Superior Soft Wave Brush:

Hard Wave Brush

Hard wave brushes are characterized by hard bristles, which work deep into the roots (the lowest part of the hair) to train the hair pattern. Hard brushes are not meant to be used on short hair lengths and should not be used after a fresh cut. On the other hand, hard brushes should be used when wolfing the hair and for brushing coarse hair types. Harder bristles work to quickly bring out the wave pattern because they have a lot of pull and get down to the roots. Hard brushes can work to stimulate the scalp and promote hair growth while effectively getting rid of tangles. Some wavers use hard brushes in the shower to help their waves lay down. Veeta’s Superior Wave Brush collection is coming soon and it includes a hard brush. Read below for a look into the features of the Veeta Superior Hard Wave Brush:
