June is Pride Month and Veeta is here to celebrate with a superior collection of Durags and Wave Caps. Veeta’s Superior Pride Collection consists of 11 different colored durags and wave caps, all of which are found in the Pride flag. Each of the colors found in the Pride Flag come together to “…reflect the diversity of the LGBTQ+ community and the ‘spectrum’ of human sexuality and gender”. This blog post is written in support of the LGBTQ+ community and aims to educate as well as promote self expression. Veeta is the superior choice and offers several collections that all aim to raise the standards of excellence. With that being said, it’s time to dive into the 11 colors that make up the Pride Flag, and the Veeta Durag/Wave Cap that represents each color.

To The Rainbow, And Beyond!
The first Pride flag was created in the late 1970’s by Gilbert Baker, who at the time resided in San Francisco. The original flag was distinguished by six horizontal colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. Today we honor the Progress Pride Flag, designed by Daniel Quasar in 2018. This updated version of the flag boasts thirteen different colors that include the six original shades, but adds black, brown, pink, light blue and white stripes to the mix. These additional stripe colors are an inclusionary way to bring attention to the black and brown members within the LGBTQ+ community as well as those who identify as transgender. The 11 colors of the Pride Flag are inclusive of not only sexuality spectrums, but also of race.

The Veeta Pride Collection comprises of the 11 different colored stripes of the Pride Flag, each color representing a unique spectrum of sexuality, race or life.
Red (Veeta Superior Candy Red Mesh Wave Cap)

Orange (Veeta Superior Orange Crush Velvet Durag)
The stripe that lies directly below red is orange, which represents healing. In design, orange opens the mind and invites in laughter and celebration. Orange is also rumored to reduce self-consciousness, thus allowing someone to be truly be present and authentic. The Veeta Superior Orange Crush Velvet Durag mimics the same expansive shade of orange.

Yellow (Veeta Superior Yellow Velvet Durag)
The third stripe from the top of the Pride Flag is yellow, which represents sunlight. In design, yellow can initiate new thought and ideas as well as bring focus to mental strength. The Veeta Superior Yellow Velvet Durag shines as bright as the sun with its statement yellow hue.

The fourth color emulated in the Pride flag is green, which represents nature. In design, this shade of green is symbolic of natural elements and fresh starts. It can bring healing and balance to things in life while keeping things peaceful and calm- just like the great outdoors! The Veeta Superior Green Velvet Wave Cap boasts the same prosperous shade of green.

On the Pride flag, the blue stripe symbolizes serenity. When speaking in terms of design, the color blue is said to bring about a “bigger picture” perspective, peace and purpose. Blue encourages efficiency and is the color of purity. The Veeta Superior Royal Blue Velvet Durag brings out the best of this inky hue blue shade.

Purple (Veeta Superior Lavender Silky Durag)
The final horizontal stripe on the bottom of the Pride Flag is the color purple, which symbolizes spirit. The Veeta Superior Lavender Silky Durag is designed with the highest quality material to promote a higher level head piece in a lighter shade of purple.

Black/Brown (Veeta Superior Black/Chilled Champagne Silky Wave Cap)
